Breeders' Cup World Championships Preview

This year, the Breeders' Cup will have a total of 14 races spread over two days of racing with $25 million in purse money on the line. Friday November 1st will have five races headlined by the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Distaff, which is back to its original name after several years as the Ladies Classic, worth $2 million. Saturday November 2nd will have nine races headlined by the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at 1 1/4 miles. Please note that some of the races have changed day from last year.

Final entries were taken and post positions drawn on Monday October 28. There are a total 71 individual grade or group one winners and 9 returning Breeders' Cup winners running this year.

The Breeders' Cup will be televised on NBC and NBC Sports with the schedule so far being:
     Friday, November 1, 4:00-8:00pm on NBC Sports
     Saturday, November 2, 3:30-8:00pm ET on NBC Sports
     Saturday, November 2, 8:00-9:00pm ET (Classic only) on NBC
