Jockey Eibar Coa wins 300 in New York for 2006 - He became just the fourth jockey in history to hit that mark with a win on Friday at Aqueduct. He joins Steve Cauthen, Angel Cordero Jr., and Mike Smith as the only riders to win 300 in a year at the NYRA tracks.

Roy Chapman, owner of Smarty Jones, dies at age 79 - He had been ill with emphysema for years and finally succumbed in his Philadelphia home on Friday.

Lynn Roberts Wins 2005 Media Eclipse Award for Photography - The assistant track photographer won for her picture of a three-horse photo finish of the Colonel E.R. Bradley Handicap on turf at the Fair Grounds on January 15 which appeared on the Blood Horse website.
