Note: In 2017, Good Magic finished 2nd in a maiden race at Saratoga and in the Champagne Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park before breaking his maiden in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at Del Mar. He made his 2018 debut finishing 3rd in the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park. For his final prep, he won the Blue Grass Stakes (G1) at Keeneland by 1 1/2 lengths as the 8-5 favorite. Held off the late closing Audible by a head to finish 2nd in the Kentucky Derby (G1) at odds of 9-1. In the Preakness Stakes (G1) he pressed pacesetting favorite Justify for over a mile but tired late to finish 4th beaten just 1 length as the 4-1 second choice.
