Sirius Satellite Radio Wins Media Eclipse Award - They won Media Eclipse Award in the Audio and Multi-Media Internet category for their live coverage of the 2005 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, the first-ever national live broadcast of all 8 races.
Lynn Roberts Wins 2005 Media Eclipse Award for Photography - The assistant track photographer won for her picture of a three-horse photo finish of the Colonel E.R. Bradley Handicap on turf at the Fair Grounds on January 15 which appeared on the Blood Horse website.
NYRA gets bailed out - NYRA agreed today to a $30 million package of state financial assistance that will allow them to continue racing through 2006.
The Sovereign Awards - Canada crowned their annual champions Friday night and the big winner was A Bit O'Gold who won Champion Older Male, Champion Turf Male, and Horse of the Year. Get all the winners here.
Vengeance of Rain wins the Hong Kong Cup - The win also cinched the World Racing Series Championship title for him. Get the results and photos here.
Hong Kong Vase, Sprint, and Mile Results - Ouija Board won the Vase with an amazing stretch run and became the first Breeders' Cup winner to win a Hong Kong international race. Hat Trick took the Mile while Natural Blitz won the Sprint.
Emma-Jayne Wilson wins Woodbine Jockey Title - She finished the season with 175 wins, 39 more than 2nd place Corey Fraser, and became the first woman ever to win the jockey title at Woodbine.
Starke wins the Cathay Pacific International Jockeys' Championship - German jockey, Andrasch Starke, gained his second Jockeys' Championship at Happy Valley on Wednesday. He also won in 2000.
Pat Day named 'Big Sport of Turfdom' - Recently retired Hall of Fame jockey Pat Day has been selected as the recipient of the 2005 Big Sport of Turfdom by the Turf Publicists of America. Day,
American Graded Stakes Changes for 2006 - 475 races have been assigned graded status for 2006, eight more than in 2005. A total of 11 graded races were upgraded, including four new G1 races and seven new G2 races, 12 new G3 races were identified. Check out all the changes here.

Gary Stevens Retires - He announced his retirement in a press conference at Churchill Downs on Friday and will ride his last mounts there on Saturday. He will start at TVG as a race analyst in January.
Pletcher breaks single-season earnings record - Trainer Todd Pletcher broke the North American single-season record for earnings when his trainee Spin Factor won the second race at Aqueduct to give him a total of $19,150,856.

Movie Review: Dreamer - Inspired by a True Story - We were lucky enough to catch the sneak preview on Sunday and both definitely enjoyed it. This is a feel-good family film that accurately portrays the ups and downs of the racing world. Opens Oct. 21 so don't miss it.
