2008 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races Entries - Entries have been taken for the four Group 1 races to be held at Sha Tin on Sunday, and each has at least 13 runners. Closing day of the 'J' track at Picov Downs - Sunday was the final day of the season at this small quarterhorse track in Ajax, Ontario, before they build a new 5 furlong oval. Included is the results of their first ever graded race, the Alex Picov Memorial Championship (G3).

Whitney and Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicaps - Commentator sprang to the front from the gate and never looked back in the Whitney, with Student Council and Grasshopper finishing 2nd and 3rd. Fountain of Youth Stakes Weekend - Sunday at Gulfstream Park, Cool Coal Man won his stakes debut in the Fountain of Youth (G2) while 2-year-old champ War Pass won his first start of the year easily in an allowance. On Saturday, Einstein won the Gulfstream Park Turf Stakes (G1).
Winning Colors 1985-2008 - Winning Colors, the third and last filly to win the Kentucky Derby, was euthanized at the age of 23 on Sunday due to colic complications.
Trainer Steve Asmussen wins #4000 - Trainer Steve Asmussen saddled his 4,000th winner on Sunday February 17 when J J's Bud won the third race at Oaklawn Park. Asmussen now ranks eighth on the all-time list for wins by a trainer.

Barbaro to be buried at Churchill Downs - Owners Roy and Gretchen Jackson announced on the one-year anniversary of his death, that 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro's ashes will be buried at a special monument to be built outside Gate 1 at Churchill Downs. A life-size bronze statue will be unveiled at the site in 2009.
