Robert Lewis 1924 - 2006 - Prominent California owner Bob Lewis passed away Friday in his home of heart failure. Along with his wife Beverly, they raced several champions including Silver Charm, Serena's Song, and just last year Folklore.
Roy Chapman, owner of Smarty Jones, dies at age 79 - He had been ill with emphysema for years and finally succumbed in his Philadelphia home on Friday.

Jose Santos wins 4000th - Jockey Jose Santos guided Melodeeman to victory at Aqueduct Racetrack on February 4th, giving the Chilean born jockey his 4,000th career victory in North America.
